WHAT HAPPENED TO LUKE DEVLIN?
The Archivist, Missing
On May 27, 1998, the official Archivist for the Luscinia Historical Society suddenly went missing. His disappearance was only ever mentioned in an internal memo from the organization and he was never formally reported missing to any bureau or official missing persons list. It is as if he never existed at all. The Pink Acolyte Union has recently been made aware of potential ties Devlin may have had to the Union in the late 90s as well as possible links to das Rosenungetüm.
Who even was Devlin, and why was he hired?
Luke Devlin, aged 26 at the time of his disappearance, was a photographer and self-taught noise musician. His only credentials to work in archives at all was a devoted passion to exploring history and archival research. All that is known about his life and work is the residue of his work contained within the Azimuth Collection, including transcripts of notes, internal memos, and even his own photographic work.
There are no discernible traces of Devlin’s work as an artist, as he published under an undocumented pseudonym. It is possible he was a member of the Pink Acolyte Union, but records from that time remain missing.
What is Solovey hiding?
Devlin was Dr. Patrick Solovey’s very first hire as executive director. His first project was cataloging the Azimuth Collection, which has only recently been made available for public research upon his retirement. These papers were transcribed and analyzed by Devlin as his first and only project as Archivist. The Pink Acolyte Union received a tip that this collection is of great importance to our work and history. We have yet to explore its full contents, but are actively working to access the entire collection. While recent strides have been made between our two groups to connect and share resources, the recent shift in leadership has stalled negotiations surrounding this particular collection.
