What is Das Rosenungetüm?

Documentation of the “Terrifying Pink Thing of Southern Ohio” (TPT for short) can be found as far back as 1855. Recent research suggests it may be even older, having possible sightings before the American revolution, as well as 16th-18th century sightings in modern day Germany, the UK, and more.

Unlike any other creature described in religion or folklore before, the TPT is an ambivalent being who connects with humans through song, poetry, and other abstract forms of communication.

The Pink Acolyte Union archives contain a variety of residues, references, and ephemera documenting the vast history of the TPT and its various manifestations. Concrete documentation in the form of photographs and videos are hard to come by, as it appears both analog and digital recording techniques are incapable of capturing the true essence of the creature. In addition to the PAU’s collection, evidence of the TPT can be found locally in the collection of the Luscinia Historical Society.

Other confirmed names used to describe the Rosenungetüm:

  • Esha Sorti

  • The Terrifying Pink Thing

  • Blush Monster

  • Taffie

  • Red Beast of Cheviot

The Pink Acolyte is not only the highest member of the PAU, but also serves as the current vassal of the Rosenungetüm. The current Pink Acolyte, Endeeyoh, has been serving their role since 2022. Information on previous Pink Acolytes can be found both here and at the Luscinia Historical Society.
